Sandwich popping in to say hello and thank you all for your prayers and healing vibes- they're working!

If everybody would keep healing thoughts and praye

If everybody would keep healing thoughts and prayers for Miss Sandwich, we would be so grateful. She had the that nasty lump removed from the back of her neck today. And the material inside is going to be sent out for pathology, so we'll know more in the next week. It's an unusual lump, as was the color and contents.

Jessica, thank you so much for fostering and Dr's Horton and Giese we are ever grateful for your expertise and care.

Here he is!

This cutie being saved is a direct result of "if you see something, say something". A good Sam cared enough to video, post in groups and try to secure himself and he remained in contact with people and continued to help as much as he could. We named this little guy Nicholas after this good sam. :)

He is in better shape than I had thought, noticeably thin, thankfully eating well, decompressing big time, and his fur is full of muck that needs to be brushed out (most likely from the bushes). As far as age goes, I would put him at the cusp of juvenile to adolescent. (6 months) He will be vetted soon and then when at appropriate weight, available for adoption. He is friendly, has been handled, and is an awesome little pig.

This little one was on a local community page fending for itself and living in a flexible gutter extension for safety. Yesterday, Erin watched with a trap for hours and this cutie was avoiding being caught! Early morning, Nellie was able to secure him! Just in time too!
(Nellie is who is holding the white leash/rope)

Big thanks to Macy who let us know this cutie needed rescue and coordinated with Nellie, Erin for going out yesterday, and the Bolingbrook ACO team for your assistance and remaining in communication with us start to finish, we are so grateful!

HOORAY for Adoptions! Christmas Eve, eve we learn

HOORAY for Adoptions!

Christmas Eve, eve we learned about 2 darling stray lop buns who were at Chicago Animal Care and Control. Staff were worried the girls had neck and/or back injuries when they arrived. Thankfully, we were able to secure transport by one of CACC's dedicated volunteers and rush the girls up to our friends at Chicago Exotics Animal Hospital for immediate care. We were happy to hear there were no injuries and the girls were in good shape. Buni had a bad ear infection and a head tilt. To be safe, we had her tested for EC and then treated and then spayed and ready for adoption.

During this time, Ashley and her partner filled out an application seeking a pair of buns. We shared about these cutie girls and kept in touch, and the rest is history. The girls are loving their new life with Ashley and exploring their new home, a home with plenty of food, warmth, toys, and safety, versus the street where they were abandoned. THANK YOU Ashley for not only welcoming 1 but 2, thanks to you, this mom and daughter pair will have their very best life. <3

Update on our female pig from Chicago Animal Care

Update on our female pig from Chicago Animal Care and Control who has now been named Sandwich :)

Good news! she isn't pregnant, no stones, no cysts and no urinary infection. hooray!

Not so good news: she has a hard lump on the back of her neck that will require surgery to remove. She has spent the past 2 days in hospital with our friends Chicago Exotics Animal Hospital on antibiotics and will have surgery to remove next week. We want to thank the entire staff at CE for their awesome care of our girl! Extra shout out to Dr's Horton and Moy for their expertise and Jessica for fostering, we are so grateful and Sandwich is blessed.

HOORAY for Adoptions! Billie and Blondie are brot

HOORAY for Adoptions!

Billie and Blondie are brother and sister. When they aged out, they both went separate ways. Billie was to bond to a male, Blondie with another female. Billie's partner died and his family returned him. We then neutered him hoping to pair him with a female.

When no females came, a family did who adopted him, only to be returned again. Ugh! During that time, Blondie's partner passed away.

When Billie came back, we asked Gianna if she would foster him as we knew he would remember her and it would make his decompression easier.

And then life came full circle. Gianna's Aunt Rose was interested in a neutered male and these siblings were back together again ❤️

Blondie (L) and Billie (R) picked right up from where they left off over a year ago. ❤️ this was their first meeting- they absolutely remembered one another.

Gianna and Aunt Rose, thank YOU for placing these 2 precious souls in eachother's paths again.

Just picked up this precious girl from a local she

Just picked up this precious girl from a local shelter. She was abandoned in ger cage in the forest preserves. Thank you to our friends at Cook County Animal Control for getting her to safety.

Since January 1 we have taken 31 into our program + 4 pups born, and now this cutie we have named Gorgeous, we are at 36.

Bluey just recently made her way to us from ACS, t

Bluey just recently made her way to us from ACS, too. And while that was happening, Yvette and her family had suffered a female pig loss to a cage mate as well. Abbie connected us (thank YOU Abbie!) We texted back and forth and based on personality- Bluey was the one. This little girl settled right in with Yvette's daughter and is in the bonding process too. Thank YOU Yvette and family, and thank you again Abbie for the connection!

Maury + Romy made their way to us as an owner surrender. The owner they were intended for had to move out of state. That would have been stressful and weather wise difficult too for these cuties -as skinny pigs are a whole next level of care. Mikayla saw our post on Petfinder and was smitten immediately, not to mention, Mikayla has skinny pig experience too. These boys are living their very best life! exactly what we want.

Gosh, we love all these happy endings, or is it beginnings!

HOORAY for Adoptions!

Logan made his way to us from our friends at ACS. As many know, placing males who are 1 - 3 years old to pair can get difficult as there are so many available. Many times we will neuter them and that way they can be paired with a female. Logan had a long wait- until he didn't. Gianna saw him on Petfinder, we chatted and adopted! This boy transitioned right in with his personality and friendliness to Gianna's heart. and, in future, Gianna can get him a pig wife!

HOORAY for Adoptions!!

Derbis made his way to us from our friends at Famous Fido where he had been abandoned in his cage in the early fall. This dude is amazing. Full of personality and just an amazing pig. He went into foster care with Maggie where he thrived, and, showed interest in bonding with another male. A few weeks ago, Nicki's male passed and was in need of a cage mate. She scooped him up right away. Both boys are taking things very slow and we are hoping for a great brotherly bond in the future. Thank you so much Nicki for adopting, and Maggie, thanks for fostering this special guy!

Butters was paired to Oreo- we recently pulled them from ACS. We only had them 5 days before Oreo passed and then Butters was in need of a new partner, too. During this time, Kristin and her family had lost Comet's cage mate too. When Kristin reached out seeking a friend for Comet we were thrilled! Comet has similar markings as Oreo did. Here are Comet (r) and Butters (l). They have been sniffing, grooming and laying next to one another already. Kristin, thank you for finding us and reaching out!

Momma Luna had 4 perfect pups this morning.
We just pulled her from ACS on the 24th.

They were all left behind in a box with no water or food. Once to the shelter they were sexed and separated.

We think the females are sisters. Momma recently had a litter of 3 pups and is absolutely exhausted, the pups are hanging in. The other female is in better shape than Mom, but she needs weight too. For now all are housed together and momma is receiving much needed extra alfalfa hay and pellets as she is nursing a litter and carrying another. ( Guinea pigs and rabbits can get pregnant soon after giving birth.If a male is in the habitat with them, you can bet they're pregnant again)

The boys are doing well and of good size

We are ever grateful for your donations. We have one momma who is due soon and in the next 60 to 72 days (gestation period) we will be full up with even more pups and need even more food and hay and supplies.

And we will need fosters and adopters.

Friends we need your help. This group of 8 pigs were found by an ACO in an yet another abandoned apartment. A few of them are in rough shape too. 2 of them are females most likely pregnant as males are in with them. This will be 18 pigs we have taken in since January 1 with 5 of them on pregnancy watch.

Thank you for helping us help them. No amount is too small and every dollar counts. Thank you for considering- we are grateful. The pigs especially thank you as their lives matter too.

5 years ago this smiley pup arrived from our friend Katie Wolf Trap Animal Rescue in MS. Life has been an adventure with this special abled pup ever since.

Buddha is top dog here. Ever the protector, he keeps watch over all comings and goings. He's the best "dad" to all the incoming pups. His smile is the same, just bigger as he's grown to 70 pounds. He loves his pack, especially blasto survivor Ruby, she's his girl.

Happiest gotcha day Buddha! You've proven that special abled pups can lead their very best lives with resilience and smiles. ❤️
