Skittles came to the shelter from some of the worst conditions imaginable. She lived in an outdoor metal cage and was a dog kept solely for breeding for 15 years! Like many other mommas, she was left behind when the owners moved. She was in such poor shape (starved, sick, fur loss, flea infested, high temperature) we were worried she wouldn’t make it through the night. Happy to announce, Skittles is a permanent resident here at the farm. Lovingly now called “Sassy Pants” she spends her days sleeping on a big fluffy bed, eating when she wakes and bossing all of us around. We love our little lady.
Update: Dec. 15, 2017
On December 13, 2017 Skittles lost her battle with Leukemia and went to the bridge surrounded by her 2 legged friends who loved her so. Godspeed sweet girl, you are always in our hearts.
